DISCO is No.1 💜

She’s only gone and done it, setting records along the way. Kylie Minogue’s poptastic new album enters the UK Album Chart at No.1, making her the first and only female artist to have a No.1 album in five consecutive decades.

After a much publicised chart battle for the top spot with Little Mix and their new album Confetti, Kylie comes out on top, proving that’s she’s just as relevant now in the charts as when her debut album Kylie went to No.1 back in 1988.

Total sales:

Disco: 54,905 copies Confetti: 49,887 copies

Disco is also the highest opening week for an album this year, outselling Lady Gaga (Chromatica 52.907 sales), Taylor Swift (Folklore 37,060 sales). Dua Lipa (Future Nostalgia 34.390 sales), and Ariana Grande (Positions 27,500 sales).

This is her 8th No.1 album in the UK following Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection (2019), Golden (2018), Aphrodite (2010), Fever (2001), Greatest Hits (1992), Enjoy Yourself (1989) and her debut album Kylie (1988).

She now surpasses Micheal Jackson, Elton John, George Micheal, Robbie Williams, and U2 in the ranks for acts with the most No.1 albums in the UK.
